Get Android notification on other phone, tablet or Computer (NO ROOT Required).


Many time when we are using any other Android device or a computer, we often miss notification on our phone or tablet. Now we have a solution for it. In this post we will see a application called as Desktop Notifications by which we will not miss any notification came on our phone or tablet.

Desktop Notifications app allows us to receive Android notifications in your web browser. Now we can get our android notifications directly on your computer or any other Android device.

To get your Android device notification on other device you need to install one of these free addons on any of the compatible browser :-

Google Chrome 


Mozilla Firefox


Lets see how to configure it :-
In Android device (Of which wee need to get the notification):- 1 - Visit play store and install Desktop Notifications.

2 - After installation gets completed open the application.
3 - Tap on "Open Notification Settings" under "SETUP" option. Which will redirect to "Notification access" page.

4 - By default android don't allow any other application to access Notification. To allow access to Desktop Notification, we need to check Desktop notification check box. Follow the instruction in the image below.


Now open any of the browser according to your choice and install the Desktop Notification addon (Addon links are mentioned above.)


On Google Chrome
 - Install the app on the phone, sign into your Google account on both the phone and Chrome (for desktop) to connect the devices.

On Mozilla Firefox
- Install the Firefox extension.


- Press "Ctrl + Shift + A" or type about:addons on the address bar to open Firefox Extensions Page.
- Select Desktop Notification addon and click on "Options".


- After Clicking on "Options" button, scroll down below and mention the code present in your Desktop Notification app installed in your Android device.


If every thing goes well the  Desktop Notification icon present in your Browser will display on Blue color.

What is CyanogenMod?


CyanogenMod is an enhanced open source firmware distribution for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.

Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and other performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. CyanogenMod does not contain spyware or bloatware. In many cases, CyanogenMod may increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.

CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.

10 WhatsApp Tips And Tricks !


Lets see the 10 tips, tricks and apps to get more out of your Whatsapp:

1. Hide "Last Seen" Timestamp

WhatsApp shows a "last seen" timestamps by default. However, you can disable this timestamp on both iOS and Android.

-For iOS users: all you need to do is go into Settings > Chat Settings > Advanced and set Last Seen Timestamp to Off.

-For Android users: third party apps such as Hide WhatsApp Status is there for help. It works by disabling your WiFi and data connection when you open WhatsApp.

2. Backup And Restore WhatsApp Chats
WhatsApp allows automatic backups of your chats, however there is also a manual option to do it.

-For iOS users: Settings > Chat Settings > Chat Backup, then tap Back Up Now.

-For Android users: Settings > Chat settings and tap Backup conversations to create a backup. To backup media you will need to use a file manager to copy the media folders in /sdcard/WhatsApp/Media.

However, if you want to restore a backup you will have to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.

3. Lock Your WhatsApp
-For Android users: use WhatsApp Lock.

-For BlackBerry users: use Lock for WhatsApp.

You can then protect WhatsApp by a PIN (WhatsLock) or a password (Lock for WhatsApp).

4. Create Shortcuts For Important Contacts
-For Android users: simply long press on the group or contact you want to create a shortcut for. Tap on Add conversation shortcut on the menu that pops up and you have shortcut right on your homescreen.

-For iOS users: third-party apps such as 1TapWA are there to help.

5. Stop WhatsApp Images from Appearing In Gallery Or Camera Roll
-For iOS users: go to Settings > Privacy > Photos and then turn the WhatsApp switch off.

-For Android users: create a .nomedia file in WhatsApp’s images or video directories by using a file explorer such as ES File Explorer (Navigate to the images or video folders, tap the 'New' button in the lower left, pick 'File' and create a file named .nomedia)

6. Change Your WhatsApp Phone Number
-You don’t need to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp everytime you change numbers on the same phone.

-Go to Settings > Account > Change number. Enter your old phone number in the top field and then your new phone number in the bottom field and press Done. Verify your new phone number, and you're good to go!

7. Install WhatsApp On An Android Tablet
-Get the latest version of the WhatsApp .apk and install it.

8. WhatsApp Chat Heads On Android
Using WhatsApp Chat Heads you can add chat heads for your conversations.The chat heads are also customisable, and come with specific LED colors, notification sounds and chat head colors for each of your contacts.

Secured Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot in Android 2.3 and Below.

We can use our Android phone as a portable hotspot (Wifi Server) and get our any any other wireless device online.

Lets see how -

1. Go to the Home screen.

2. Select the Menu key.


3. Select “Settings”.


4. Select “Wireless & networks”.


5. Select “Tethering & portable hotspot”.


6. Check the “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot” checkbox.


7. Select Portable “Wi-Fi hotspot settings”.

8. Select “Configure Wi-Fi hotspot”.


Give a Network SSID for your connection (Any name to identify our Wi-Fi Hotspot connection).


Select a security protocol. Options are Open and WPA2 PSK.


11. Give a password for the connection and then select the Save button.

Your Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is successfully created now.

To Turn off just Un check “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot checkbox”

These codes are used by experts and many other users to troubleshoot the device. The narmal Settings menu is not enough. There are few secret codes too.

Note: Few codes do not work on all Android version.

1. To get complete information about your Android.

This code will give you a prompt that will have the 'Reset phone' button. If you don't want to reset, then press cancel.

It reinstall's the phone's firmware and there is no way to cancel this operation, except removing the battery from the device.

Boot your Android phone or tablet into safe mode.


  
Android is a relatively stable mobile operating system, but every now and then, performance issues occurs. Safe mode is a great tool that you can use to troubleshoot issues. Safe mode boots your phone running only the apps that came with the phone that means no third-party apps. Therefore, if your phone runs without an issue when your in safe mode, it means the problem isn’t system related.


Method 1

1. Press the physical power button on your device.
2. Long-touch the “Power off” option that appears.
3. A dialog box asking you if you want to reboot to safe mode may pop up. Tap OK.
(Note: If the box doesn’t appear, try Method 2.)
4. Now after phone reboots, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark at the bottom left of the screen.

Method 2

1.Press the physical power button on your device. And turn off your phone normally.
2. Once your phone is off, Now pressing the power button for 2 sec.
3. And then, hold down both the volume up and volume down buttons (yes, both) and keep them held.
4. Once your phone has booted, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark at the botom left of the screen.


To exit safe mode, you just restart your device as you normally would.
